Greetings Fellow Legionnaires,
I am Nathan Bond, your 2023-2024 District 1 Commander.
I did not intend for my first email to you to be a call to action on legislation. In a way though, this is appropriate. My first communication with you was going to be a call to action in a broader sense. This more specific reason though is an excellent example of what The American Legion is about. We help our fellow veterans and their families. One of the most important ways we help each other is making sure the government that sent us to war, cares for our sick and wounded brothers and sisters when we come home.
The SFC Heath Robinson, Honoring our PACT Act is legislation that would require the VA to care for those veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other regions, who were exposed to deadly chemicals through burn-pits and other means. The Senate is playing politics with the lives of our fellow veterans. Please click on the link below. It will message both Senator Baldwin and Senator Johnson that we as members of The American Legion support this legislation.
